Exchange of Traffic Rights

The Exchange of Traffic Rights allows transport operators established in one country to travel into, from or across the territory of other countries. Currently transport operations from one point to another within the same territory can only be permitted with special authorization from the country where the travel will take place.

GMS Customs Transit and Temporary Admission System (CTS)

The role of the private sector in putting the CBTA into operation is significant, with the creation of the CTS making this evident. The CTS balances the interests of national governments and government monitoring and enforcement agencies with road transport operators and industry associations. It also provides safeguards and controls where competing interests would otherwise be in conflict.
